Horse Riding Lessons at Camelot Farms
We are pleased to offer lessons to the first time rider or the more advanced rider wishing to begin dressage. We enjoy working with children as well as adults. Our lessons for children start at age eight. If a younger child wishes to ride we will work with the parents to develop a program for that child so as to get acquainted with the horse and learn basic safety rules.
There is a lot to learn about horsemanship. Riding is only one facet. We teach care, grooming, anatomy, first aid, along with safety and riding. Each horse is different in temperament as well as gait and we like our students to experience all different horses and situations that they might find when they are riding for pleasure and not in a lesson.
At the end of each lesson, we usually take the students on a mini trail ride to practice outside of the ring. Most children and adults enjoy this and it offers new situations and keeps ring boredom at a minimum for horse and rider.
Our private lessons cost $40 per hour.

Equestrian Training Services
The new word in horse training is "natural horsemanship." We have been working with understanding of and kindness for the horse for years. All creatures learn at a different rate and in a different way. It is the job of the teacher, trainer to find the gentle way to reach understanding with the horse. We believe in strong schooling in groundwork, both in the round pen and out. We believe that there has to be respect. Horses are a large and strong animal and they have to have boundaries. Each day that we interact with horses we are teaching them - for better or for worse. That is why we like to involve the owner in the process as much as possible. So many people have told me that "My horse will do it for you but not for me." Training is an everyday occurance!
We are happy to start horses, or 'restart' horses and teach more advanced maneuvers. We will work your horse five to six days a week. We like to work with our training horses in the fall-winter seasons as our trail ride season slows down then.
Please call to dicuss your needs and wishes.
Training costs per month $800 which includes stall board, turn out, training five to six days a week, and lessons with the owners.
